Once upon a time, there were certain “rules” you used to celebrate different anniversaries: ten-year gifts were diamonds, 25 years meant you got silver, 50 years was gold, etc. For Chevrolet, 65 years equals lots of carbon fiber. At least, that’s what the brand’s using to celebrate the Chevy Corvette’s 65th year in the industry. The new Carbon 65 Edition offers drivers the chance to add some cool new carbon fiber parts to their Corvette for an even more lightweight, performance-focused ride.
The Carbon 65 Edition will only grace 650 models—a continuation of the 65 theme—and will be available for the 2018 model year. Chevrolet is using the Grand Sport, including its 460-hp engine, as well as the 650-hp Z06 model as a base for the package. Both coupe and convertible body styles are available. The Carbon 65 Edition will incorporate exposed parts such as a carbon fiber roof, hood, rear spoiler, and more so that they’ll be recognizable and stand out from other Corvette Grand Sport and Z06 models.
The Carbon 65 Edition package will be available this summer as an additional $15,000 added onto the base models. Interested? Head over to Wright Chevrolet Buick GMC, and we can answer any questions and hook you up with the 65th anniversary edition of the 2018 Chevy Corvette.
