New Chevy Cruze Hatchback Is Strong Competition in Hatchback, Diesel Markets

The 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatchback is Chevrolet’s first foray into adding a hatchback trim to its smaller models. The Cruze, Chevy’s compact offering, has been a four-door, gas-powered sedan for its entire life—until 2017, that is. The Cruze Hatchback has actually been available in Europe for years, but it took longer for the compact hatchback to gain popularity in the US.

Much shorter than the Cruze sedan, the hatchback version is nevertheless much more spacious, with almost 10 more cubic feet of cargo space and more rear-seat headroom. This makes it a more practical ride in cities, where tight parking spaces are a common fixture, as well as a smart choice for families and frequent road-trippers.

The Cruze Hatchback also offers an agile ride and a quiet cabin, plus plenty of great technology like the optional Driver Confidence II Package, which comes with automatic headlights, Rear Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert, and much more.

Currently offered only with a gasoline engine, the Cruze Hatchback is expected to add the diesel option available on the sedan version early next year, so keep an eye out if you’re looking for a compact hatchback with hybrid-like fuel economy. The new Chevy Cruze Hatchback is a fun, practical option for any compact car driver, so check out it out today at Wright Chevrolet Buick GMC.
