Chevrolet has long been considered an award-winning brand, and it doesn’t look like that is going to change any time soon. The American carmaker was recently named J.D. Power’s Most Awarded Brand of 2017 during the J.D. Power Automotive Summit.
Six Chevrolet vehicles, ranging from cars to heavy-duty pickup trucks, won a total of nine awards in the J.D. Power 2017 Vehicle Dependability, Initial Quality, and APEAL studies. As J.D. Power puts it, “These awards highlight the automotive brands that are continually exceeding customer expectations and leading the way in terms of dependability, quality, and overall customer satisfaction.”
Here’s a look at some of the awards Chevrolet took home this year.
- Vehicle Dependability Study: This award looks at issues reported by the original owners of 3-year-old vehicles to determine which cars are the most reliable. The winners of this award include the Chevrolet Sonic, Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Chevrolet Silverado HD.
- Initial Quality Study: This award looks at problems experienced during the first 90 days of ownership to determine the vehicles’ quality. The Chevrolet vehicles recognized by this award include the Silverado, Silverado HD, and Sonic.
- Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout Study (APEAL): This study measures if the owner feels emotionally attached to their vehicle and their level of excitement over a variety of attributes. Winners of this award include the Chevrolet Bolt and Chevrolet Tahoe.
