The Chevrolet Suburban has dominated American roadways as the full-size SUV for decades, known for its interior comfort and its high-power performance. But the new Suburban RST Performance Package will up the ante with even more power and style.
According to Chevy, this new package, which was announced earlier this month, features a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, a new Hydra-Matic 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission, and Magnetic Ride Control with performance calibration.
The package will be available as an upgrade on the new Suburban RST model, which joined the Suburban lineup last year. Chevy says that the style of the Suburban RST is “based largely on trends in the aftermarket space.” This means that Chevy has stripped the chrome in favor of a sportier appearance, with body-color grille surround and door handles; black roof rails, badging, window trim, and bowties; and gloss-black grille and mirror caps. The Suburban RST Performance Package sits the SUV on 22-inch wheels.
“The RST Performance Package made its debut on the Tahoe RST last spring, and the response from our customers was overwhelmingly positive,” explained Sandor Piszar, director of Chevy Trucks Marketing and Advertising. “In fact, Tahoe RST with the Performance Package is the fastest-turning Tahoe model, and we’ve received customer requests to offer the same performance and power to Suburban RST. Delivering on those requests with the Suburban RST Performance Package is another example of how Chevrolet has continually invested in the segment, developing models with combinations of capability, technology and performance to meet the needs of different customers.”
The new package will be available later this summer. For more information on how you can get your hands on the new Chevrolet Suburban, visit us at Wright Chevrolet Buick GMC.
