2018 has already been a year of big announcements for the Chevrolet Silverado. Earlier this year, Chevy unveiled the 2019 Silverado 1500, which combines a significant weight loss with Chevy’s signature dependability. Chevy also announced a lineup of Silverado chassis-cab models: the 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD.
Now, there’s even more news — and its centered around the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD pickup. It looks like this next-generation heavy-duty pickup truck will debut in 2019, and it will be poised to redefine what Chevy is capable of.
Next-gen Silverado HD prototype testing hasn’t begun just yet, but Chevy has stated that this pickup truck will meet the heavy-duty needs of heavy-duty truck owners. It was also hinted at that the new model will have even bolder, larger proportions than the current-generation model.
“Chevrolet has built more than 85 million trucks in 100 years and we have applied that accumulated truck expertise in the new Silverado range,” said Alan Batey, global head of Chevrolet. “Every Silverado is built to be long-lasting and dependable, as many customers need their trucks to earn a living or to do what they enjoy most when they’re off the clock.”
Chevrolet will assemble the 2020 Silverado HD pickup in Flint, Michigan, with the first production models being ready to go by fall 2019. When it arrives, you can expect to see it on display right here at Wright Chevrolet Buick GMC.
