Earlier this year, GMC announced two new 2019 GMC Yukon Graphite Editions: the Yukon Graphite Edition and the Yukon Graphite Performance Edition. The former offers a darkened exterior appearance while the latter sees a number of performance upgrades. These new editions are exclusively offered on SLT trims for the Yukon and Yukon XL in 2WD and 4WD configurations.
So what does the Yukon Graphite Edition add to darken the appearance? According to GMC, it will sit on 22-inch bright machined wheels with Carbon Flash Metallic pockets and will get a premium black chrome grille mesh insert and fog lamp surrounds, black roof rails, black assist steps with gloss black accents, gloss black beltline moldings, black trim, and a body-color grille surround.
Meanwhile, the Yukon Graphite Performance Edition relies on a 6.2-liter V8 engine with Active Fuel Management and continuously variable valve timing, which produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, this engine also boasts direct injection and is complemented with Magnetic Ride Control.
“The Yukon continues to lead the full-size SUV segment with premium features and an instantly recognizable and well-respected identity,” remarked Stu Pierce, senior marketing manager for GMC Trucks and Full-Size SUVs. “The all-new Graphite Edition builds on the commanding road presence and inherent capabilities of the Yukon and affords customers the opportunity to project a unique, yet distinctly GMC style.”
