October was Breast Cancer Awareness month. Tons of support groups, non-profits, and businesses from around the world came together to support those battling breast cancer. Furthermore, where car manufacturers are concerned, Chevy’s commitment to breast cancer awareness has remained strong for over half a decade.
Six years ago, Chevrolet and many of its dealerships decided to team up with the American Cancer Society. They were in search of a way to contribute to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program. This program organizes regular community walks that increase breast cancer awareness and raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Chevrolet has taken this opportunity to use event sponsorship’s, team participation in Making Strides walks, and other means to raise money. Because of these efforts, Chevrolet and General Motors have contributed over $6 million toward research and support over the past five years.
Chevrolet also encourages customers to engage in their efforts. This October, Chevy created a simple way for customers to raise money and awareness. Each time someone posted on social media with the hashtag #IDriveFor, Chevy donated $5 to the American Cancer Society. While across the county, Chevrolet dealerships participated in their own unique ways.
Just because October is over doesn’t mean breast cancer awareness should fade from our thoughts. Therefore, Chevy encourages customers to visit MakingStridesWalk.org to find a walk near them where they can join the movement and show their support.
